Texas Tech vs. OU Celebration

Monday, September 10, 2007

My podcast will discuss where Texas Tech students can find the best food and drinks in Lubbock for every day of the week. I chose this topic because this is an area that interests me and I feel that other Tech students will find it helpful to know where there are cheap/good food and beverages. My first podcast will be available Sept. 17. I did see that other people in the class chose to do a lifestyle type theme as well but I believe mine is the only one that deals specifically with food and drink specials and divides them up for every day of the week. The biggest challenge that I faced while creating the first podcast of the series was getting used to the software. This introductory podcast should have been easy to create but this being my first podcast ever, that was to be expected. The biggest dilemma that I see in creating this series of podcasts is finding time to get into the studio or lab to use the equipment that I need. I also am not sure who I will interview in my future podcasts; however, I will find an appropriate person to interview by the time that is required. To solve the other problem, I have recently purchased a Macbook Pro that should arrive next week. This will enable me to create many of the podcasts and edit them wherever I may be.

Hey man, thats an awesome idea. I think yours will be different from anyone else's because you will do the food/drink specials for each day. I know I'll be tunning in to find out where to eat for cheap! Good luck man.

Catchy intro music. Good description of purpose. Voice sounds forced and formal. Try to relax and sound more conversational. Good information on what to expect in upcoming podcasts. Good fade out. Good info on blog, but important items should be set off in one way or another.

The intro music definitely got my attention at the beginning. I liked your idea for including an interactive poll on the blog also. I caught one spelling error on the blog when you spelled "dilemma" with two l's. Not that this is a huge deal or anything but I was trying to figure out what to comment. I like what you've done so far and really the only thing I'd say to do in the future is to make sure to cut out more of the silence between recordings. The topic is something I know a lot of students have an interest in so I look forward to hearing your future podcasts.

I liked your tone and attitude in this podcast. You have a universal idea and I think it will appeal to a big audience. You had good inflection throughout the episode and I look forward to listening to your other episodes.

I don’t think I heard any pauses or “uhms,” good job. I like how you explained the series as a whole, the pod cast didn’t leave me with any questions. Though, the voice was a bit flat, I’m sure you can take care of that.

My only concern is with the enthusiasm. I think you did a fine job of controlling all the other factors and presenting your information in a reasonable manner. Just try to keep your energy levels up for the next podcast.

Awesome intro music. You have a really good idea with the food and drinks specials because it applies to every college student. Everybody wants to hear about the newest spots in lubbock and where to go for the right price. There were a couple of pauses but other than that your podcast was really good.

I really like the topic of your podcast. It has the potential of reaching a large, if not all, portion of Tech students. There was a lot of good information and you spoke clearly. I enjoyed this podcast and I'm excited to hear what you have for us next time.

This podcast is pretty good. I like the idea of being able to keep people updated with specials and I think that you will be able to get pretty good and easy footage of this stuff as long as store managers cooperate.
